The Department of Information Technology focuses on the design, development, implementation, support and management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. Students master converting, storing, protecting, processing, transmitting and securely retrieving information using electronic computers and software. Recognising that the field is dynamic and constantly evolving, the department ensures students not only learn current techniques but continuously upgrade their knowledge, supported by specialised laboratories for software engineering, databases, programming, web technology, multimedia and operating systems.

Among the premier departments of YTIET, the Department of Mechanical Engineering offers graduate-level courses supported by laboratories recognised as testing facilities and workshops for smithy, carpentry, welding and machine tools. Established in 2014-15, the Department of Civil Engineering trains students to design, build and manage the infrastructure of civilisation - buildings, bridges, highways, water supply systems and other public works. The programme spans structural engineering, geotechnical and earthquake engineering, hydrology, water resources and environmental engineering, with core study in strength of materials, fluid mechanics, concrete technology, surveying and transportation engineering. The department seeks to instil the ideal balance of character, knowledge and attitude so graduates can assume leadership roles in society, with a sanctioned intake of 60 students.

Practical learning is supported by an electrical machines laboratory, a measurement and electronics laboratory and a switchgear laboratory, with a sanctioned intake of 60 students.
