Yadavrao Tasgaonkar Institute of Engineering and Technology (YTIET) is a NAAC-accredited engineering college near Karjat in Raigad district, affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by AICTE and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra. Established in 2005-06 under the Saraswati Education Society, YTIET offers Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and Master of Management Studies programmes across a lush 80-acre green campus on Bhivpuri Road. Yadavrao Tasgaonkar Institute of Engineering and Technology (YTIET) was established in 2005-06 under the Saraswati Education Society (SES Trust), a public charitable trust founded by Dr. Nandkumar Yadavrao Tasgaonkar. Affiliated to the University of Mumbai and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra, YTIET has grown into one of the established engineering colleges of the Karjat-Raigad belt, carrying the DTE institute code 3147.
The institute is set within a picturesque 80-acre green campus on Bhivpuri Road, part of the wider Tasgaonkar Group of Institutes ecosystem. Students learn amid state-of-the-art infrastructure that includes modern laboratories, smart classrooms, well-equipped computing facilities and a well-stocked central library. The serene, distraction-free setting at the foothills near Karjat provides an ideal environment for focused study, research and holistic growth.
YTIET delivers outcome-based education and experiential learning through industry visits, internships, workshops, seminars, technical competitions and research initiatives. The academic philosophy blends rigorous theory with hands-on practice, placing strong emphasis on employability, skill development, innovation and industry-oriented learning so that graduates are ready for the demands of a fast-changing technology landscape.
The undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering programme spans four years across eight semesters and is offered in core branches including Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the institute also developing new-age branches such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Cyber Security. At the postgraduate level, the Master of Engineering programme offers specialisations in Machine Design (Mechanical), Computer Engineering and Electrical Power Systems.
Beyond engineering, YTIET runs a Master of Management Studies (MMS) programme, introduced in 2007 and affiliated to the University of Mumbai, that develops the managerial and leadership capabilities of students across functions such as marketing, finance, operations, human resources and strategy through a balanced mix of core courses, electives, internships and live projects.
Campus life is deliberately holistic. Students have access to a swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, football and cricket grounds, a campus cafeteria, transport facilities and secure, well-maintained hostels for those who travel from distant locations.
