Dr. N. Y. Tasgaonkar Institute of Medical Science (NYTIMS) is a contemporary medical institution located in the scenic Karjat taluka of Raigad district, Maharashtra, opposite Bhivpuri Road railway station. Founded by the visionary radiologist Dr. Nandkumar Yadavrao Tasgaonkar and operated under the Saraswati Education Society, the college received its first Letter of Permission from the National Medical Commission and first-time affiliation from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences for the 2021-22 academic year, welcoming its inaugural MBBS batch that same year.
The institute is built around a clear purpose: to cultivate compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals through rigorous education, innovative research, and meaningful community engagement. Its undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme admits 100 students per batch and spans five and a half years, comprising four and a half years of academic instruction followed by a mandatory one-year rotating internship. Teaching is organised across the classic three-tier medical-college structure of pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical departments.
To become a globally recognized center of excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare delivery.
To cultivate compassionate, skilled healthcare professionals through rigorous education, innovative research, and community engagement, bridging theoretical knowledge and real-world medical practice while upholding ethical values and empathetic patient care.
