Departments
The academic departments that power teaching and clinical learning at VTCN.
Foundational
(1)Fundamentals of Nursing
The Fundamentals of Nursing area introduces students to the core principles, procedures and ethics of professional nursing practice. Through skills-laboratory demonstrations and supervised clinical postings, learners build a strong foundation in patient assessment, basic nursing care and safe, compassionate practice.
Clinical
(3)Medical-Surgical Nursing
Medical-Surgical Nursing develops competence in caring for adult patients across acute and chronic conditions. Clinical postings at the associated Raigad Hospital, scheduled through the Master Rotation Plan, give students structured exposure to ward management, peri-operative care and evidence-based interventions.
Community Health Nursing
Community Health Nursing prepares students to deliver preventive, promotive and rehabilitative care beyond the hospital. The area emphasises public-health principles, family-centred care and the nurse's role in improving the health of communities across the Karjat and Raigad region.
Midwifery & Obstetrical Nursing
Midwifery and Obstetrical Nursing equips students with the knowledge and clinical skills to support women through pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period. The programme integrates classroom learning with supervised clinical practice in line with Indian Nursing Council requirements for professional nursing and midwifery.
